Painting the kitchen floor

When we moved here we removed much of the carpet. One place its not good for us to have carpet is in the kitchen. We tend to be messy. We cook a lot. Friends are over quite often. Kids running around. All these things make for messy floors. Our floor is wood, but it is a soft wood. That means we cant sand and varnish it. What to do? We painted the floor. It looks great. Only problem is it needs repainted every so often, maybe each year. The girls repainted today and it looks so fresh and clean. I love it. I almost hate to step on it.

Our next project is the main floor bathroom.

We are going to tear off the wall paper. Replace the shower head. Paint the walls a light gray. Tear out the carpet and paint the floors white. The woodwork is already white so we will give them a fresh new coat of white paint. I also bought new shower curtains and towels. It will be gray and white with light blue tile. The cabinets are brown so I think I will spruce them up and paint them white. We recently replaced the sink faucet. Also we are going to scrape the ceiling and repaint it white.
So: white floor and trim
gray walls
white cabinets
gray and white towels
white lace shower curtains
