Death in my family

I have been MIA because my step dad died.  I went to Kansas for the funeral and to be with my mom and family for the last ten days.  He was a very good man and I will miss him.
Dodge City - Donald E. Miller, 86, died July 13, 2015 at Minneola District Hospital, Minneola. He was born on July 8, 1929 on the family farm near Ford, Kansas the son of Sydney L. and Mary (Whittaker) Miller. Donald was a lifetime resident, farmer and rancher of Ford County. He graduated from Ford High School in Ford. On July 8, 1961 he married Sylvia Mae Wilson in Dodge City. She preceded him in death on July 9, 1990. He then married Vera L. Sonday on November 10, 1992. Donald enjoyed bird watching, gardening and hunting. He especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Dodge City, a lifetime member of the former Fraternal Order Of Moose Lodge in Dodge City and a current lifetime member of the Fraternal Order Of Moose Lodge in Hutchinson. Donald is survived by his wife Vera L. Miller, Dodge City; three daughters, Carol Collier and Roberta Conley and husband Wayne both of Dodge City and Debra Olson and husband Jeff of Lake City, Texas; two brothers, Albert Miller, Ft. Dodge and Orville Miller, Colorado Springs, Colorado; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Sylvia and three brothers, Harley, Clayton and Gilbert Miller. Funeral service will be held at Swaim Funeral Home on Friday, July 17, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Ryan Ausmus presiding. Burial will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Ford. Visitation will be at Swaim Funeral Home on Thursday, July 16, 2015 from Noon to 8:00 P.M.. Memorials are suggested to Shriners Children's Hospital of St. Louis, Missouri in care of the funeral home.
