BABY SAZINHO AND FOSTER MOTHER

Sozinho, now 8 months old, weighs 6.5kg (14.3 lbs)!  Nothing like lots of prayer, a loving foster mother, great food, and proper care to spark the growth of a child in trouble.  JESUS SAVES is more than words.  It’s LIFE around here!

BUSH BUNNY BRENDA BACK IN BALAMA

Finally got home to Balama late Tuesday afternoon, as I was met at the airport on Monday with the news that I needed to organize 1 more licensing document for our orphanage before I returned to Balama.  Our licensing process is almost completed in Maputo, so with a bit more patience, we should complete this 4 year challenge with the most sought after document that any orphanage program can obtain.  This will legalize our program and bring more security to the orphans who benefit from it.
More Government visitors are coming to Balama on Monday, and have asked us to host them for 4 nights.   They plan to visit all 4 Distribution Posts where we feed approximately 2,000 orphans and widows.
Our Meluco orphanage had Government visitors last Friday.  They praised our program highly after visiting our home that hosts 6 orphan girls.  They also contributed a gift of 3,000mts ($85 or R1,020) to help us buy new Gardening Hoes for the 150 widows.  New hoes will be a blessing to them all, as the ones we gave them are about worn out.

NATIONAL AWANA CONFERENCE STARTS MONDAY IN CHIMOIO (Shah-moy-ooh)

Carltios Jorge and Bertino Alberto are presently traveling by bus to the city of Chimoio (600 miles south of Balama) to attend the National AWANA Conference in Mozambique.  This 4 day conference will expand their teaching skills so that these 2 young men can train up more Awana Leaders within our Province (state).  Our goal is to begin training leaders from other churches to do what we do, and thus spread the gospel to tens of 1000’s of children in other Districts (counties).
Each District has over 80,000 school age children, so the challenge is great!  Keep us in prayer as we begin to approach these different church leaders with our training program.

  MEN AT WORK

Orphan Sozinho (left) and Master Carpenter Mario, repairing a widow’s door.  Sozinho is one of many who received an education and a prosperous future because of YOUR LOVE GIFTS.  Now 20 years old, Sozinho has completed a 3 year internship with Mario to become a master carpenter.  He will continue working along side Mario as his first assistant.  A perfect example of giving a “hand up” and not just a hand out.

PASTOR FREDERICO TRAVELING TO MALAWI

Pastor Fred, National Pastor for Aguas Vivas (Living Waters) in Mozambique, will represent us next week in Blantyre, Malawi at the 30th INTERNATIONAL MEETING OF LIVING WATERS CHURCH IN AFRICA.  Living Waters Church, Blantyre, Malawi is our Mother Church, and the International headquarters.
It is at this church 16 years ago, where I met with the 20 member missions board who mandated me to register Igreja Aguas Vivas (Living Waters Church) in the Cabo Delgado Province of Mozambique.  The GOAL: Bring the good news about JESUS to the 1000’s of orphans and widows in the remote areas where the Gospel had never been preached.
I would have attended this conference, but my medical needs got in the way this month.
So the Bunny stays home to host our government visitors this week.  Keep us covered in prayer that all goes well with their visit.
Blessings,
Bush Bunny Brenda Lange
