Cleaning and sorting room by room
Next week we are starting a HUGE clean and sort faze. We will be going room by room trying to pare down as much as possible. We are hoping our house sells and we will be that much closer to being able to move. Its so hard to do this so I am going to have to really be hard on myself and get rid of things I don't need. I know the basement is first on the list. We must purge big time. If I had a place to store things I would love to have a garage sale but I may just end up trying to sell things and giving the rest away.

Jay Bakker's speech on Gay Marriage
This is one of the dangers of the emergent church. They teach their own brand of religion, not the word of the Bible

Another amusing email
No jury would convict her.
POWER OUTAGE
At my recent assault trial, I offered a plea of "Guilty with an explanation.
"The judge asked me what my explanation was, so I told my story.
"Your Honor," I said, "I had a mammogram appointment, which I actually kept.
I was met with: 'Hi! I'm Belinda!'
This perky clipboard carrier smiled from ear to ear, tilted her head to one side and crooned, 'All I need you to do is step into this room right here, strip to the waist, then slip on this gown. Everything clear?' I'm thinking, 'Belinda, try decaf. This ain't rocket science.'
Belinda skipped away to prepare the chamber of horrors. With the right side finished, Belinda flipped me (literally) to the left and said, 'Hmmmm. Can you stand on your tippy toes and lean in a tad so we can get everything?' 'Fine', I answered. I was freezing, bruised, and out of air, so why not use the remaining circulation in my legs and neck and finish me off
My body was in a holding pattern that defied gravity (with my other breast wedged between those two 4 inch pieces of square glass) when we heard, then felt a zap!Complete darkness and the power went off! 'Oh, maintenance is working. Bet they hit a snag.' Belinda said, and headed for the door. 'Excuse me!You're not leaving me in this vise alone are you?' I shouted.
Belinda kept going and said, 'Oh, you fussy puppy...the door's wide open so you'll have the emergency hall lights. I'll be right back.'Before I could shout 'NOOOO!' she disappeared.
And that's exactly how Bubba and Earl, maintenance men extraordinaire, found me ... half-naked with part of me dangling from the Jaws of Life, and the other part smashed between glass! After exchanging a polite 'Hi, how's it going' type greeting, Bubba (or possibly Earl) asked, to my utter disbelief, if I knew the power was off.
Trying to disguise my hysteria, I replied with as much calmness as possible 'Uh, yes, yes I did thanks.' 'You bet, take care' Bubba replied and waved good-bye as though I'd been standing in the line at the grocery store.
Two hours later, Belinda breezes in wearing a sheepish grin. Making no attempt to suppress her amusement, she said, 'Oh I am sooo sorry!' The power came back on and I totally forgot about you! And silly me, I went to lunch. Are we upset?'
And that, Your Honor, is exactly how her head ended up between the clamps....
"The judge could hardly contain her laughter as she said 'Case Dismissed!!'

Apricots
I have been invited to go with some church ladies to pick apricots. I am excited as I do not have any apricots canned right now. I looked it up and I can use my steam canner and not have to use the pressure canner. I hope the girls come with me and we are able to pick a lot so I will have a bunch to can. I am just like my mom, I love to can.
My sisters sweetie Duane, spelled right this time gave me about 9 boxes of canning jars the other day. There are still a few more boxes left he said I could have. I appreciate this very much. I am always on the look out for good canning jars and usually am able to get lots of them for free. And as my friends all know,"free is my favorite price".
Carol, if you are reading this let me know if you would like a couple of jars of apricots as a Thank You to Duane for the jars?
New menu plan
It has been a while since I have planned out the weeks menus. I decided today was the day. I pulled the post up and was working on it. I filled in two or three days of menus and then drew a blank.
Hannah sat down at my computer and asked if she could fill in the blanks and see if I liked her ideas for menus. Sure.
I did indeed like her ideas and so my menu is now complete for the week. Thanks Hannah.
On another note. Bill and Christina arrived at 3am. Mollie woke up to greet them and they all fell into bed. I made a breakfast casserole and when everyone was up we enjoyed talking until it was time for them to get ready to go to the funeral. I asked to stay home and take care of the little ones. I need some kiddo time anyway.
I am hoping to have some family time with the Derixson's this evening and that Jeff will get to spend some time with them as well. I will prepare enchilada casserole and Spanish rice for supper.

Fun time with Shelley
Yesterday Hannah, dad and I drove to Dodge to bring dad home and to pick up Mollie. My sisters and I had a meeting with dad and decided to give him a week to get busy doing more things for himself and takeing responsibility for his therapy.
We asked him to do better at taking care of himself and getting dressed. We have a lady who will check on him every morning to be sure he is dressed and doing good.
We are also checking into getting a life line that connects directly with the local fire/ambulance/rescue department. If we can find someone to come check on him at least twice a day and make sure he has dressed himself and is doing his physical therapy we decided to let him try to stay in his apartment for now.
He knows we only have his best interest at heart. My sisters and brother in law both work and are sometimes in meetings for hours and I am two hours away so its imperative that we come to an agreement on dad's care.
He agreed to do his part so we have decided to reevaluate in one week.
Hannah and I stayed with Kent and Shelley Korrell in Spearville, my cousins last night. We stayed up until 2:30am talking. We need to get together more often so we don't have so much catching up to do.
I helped Shelley learn to use her sewing machine. She picked it up incredibly fast. She is a quick study. Shelley had purchased flannel to make several of the bone shaped burp rags. It turned out that she had enough fabric to make about 24 or so. She also bought fabric to make two dresses each for her two girls. We cut one out and I helped her begin the sewing process. I was amazed how quick she picked up sewing. I made a pattern for some shorts for her little boy so they can all have matching outfits for the 4th of July.
On the way home we stopped at Wal Mart where I purchased some flannel so I can make some burp cloths too. Christina is pregnant and I want to get started making things for her and the baby.

Tragedy
The girls were only at the water park for a few minutes when another girl from our town received a phone call from her dad who is a sheriff deputy. Three local kids were in a roll over accident. One 14 year old boy is dead. The driver, a 16 year old girl who just got her permit two days ago may have a broken back and its unknown about the other boy but he is very bad too.
Hannah's friend Conchita was just texting the boy who died last night and he wanted her to come with them today. She could have been involved in the wreck too.
I prayed with the girls and talked to them about how we must always be ready to meet God.
I called our old pastor and he talked to her and prayed with her as well.
A tragedy like this impacts the whole town when you live in a rural community like we do. We live in the country but these kids all know each other.
Many kids from summer fun school were also at the water park and everyone went home. Its a very sad day for our community.

Water Park
Hannah and her friend Conchita want me to take them to Liberal to the water park today. I am packing up hand sewing, crocheting and a book to keep me busy while they play. If I had money I would go shopping but I don't so I will do these things. I found three crochet projects that need finishing so I will get them done.
I think I have enough cash to get s sonic drink during happy hour. Maybe I have enough to pick up a couple of things at the dollar store too.
I am collecting ideas of cute baby gifts to make. If you have a neat idea for a home made baby gift let me know. I need to get on the stick and start making things. Bill and Christina's baby is due in November.

Dehydrating herbs and vegetables
I have an Excalibur dehydrator that I like to use to dehydrate herbs and vegetables. While I was at Sam's Club I bought two containers of freeze dried mushrooms at something like 4.37 each. I also bought two packages of sliced fresh mushrooms 2# each for $2.37 each. I wanted to see which was the better buy.
I dehydrated the fresh mushrooms and when they were completely dry there was 1/2 gallon jar completely full.
1.5oz looks like less than a quart size $4.37 It would take at least three of these to equal the amount I dehydrated. So for the same amount it would cost $13.11
1/2 gallon $4.76
It looks like dehydrating them my self is a far better deal. At about 1/3 the cost.
Today I put basil and fresh oregano in to dehydrate. My friend Glenda is the best gardener. She is wonderful with herbs and always shares with me. I sure appreciate it.

Warning
I saw this on Mommylife.net and thought it important enough to reprint here.
http://mommylife.net/
Good morning to you all.
I want to make you aware of a recent incident that occurred this morning in York Twp. This type of incident directly affects your safety as well as your children's safety. This morning, at approximately 8:00 am, I was dispatched to an address, on Bemis Rd near the Saline City Limits, for an unexploded pop bottle bomb. When I arrived, I noticed a 20 ounce pop bottle, on the ground, in the callers front yard. After I inspected it closer, I determined that it was in fact a "Works" Bomb. I was able to clear the device away from the house and once I moved it, it detonated itself within 30 seconds.
After leaving that house, I checked other yards in the area during my patrols. I located a second one, just a few doors down from the first one. As I took care of the disposal/detonation, the homeowner came out and asked me what it was. When I showed her what it was, she immediately told me that she saw the bottle and that she had planned on picking it up when she got her morning paper. Like the first one, once I moved it, it detonated in short order. There was a high probability that this would have detonated in her hand/face while she carried it to the trash.
A "Works" Bomb is Drain-o and Tin Foil, mixed together inside of a bottle. The chemical reaction between the Drain-o and the Tin Foil makes a volatile build up of gases and subsequently detonates the bottle with a great amount of force. Once the detonation occurs, the chemical substance that is in the bottle is actually boiling liquid.
The amount of force that is generated at the time of the explosion is enough to severe fingers and also deliver 2nd and 3rd degree chemical burns to the victim. The chemicals can possibly cause blindness and the toxic fumes can be harmful.
**SAFETY**SAFETY**SAFETY***..........When you are out and about in your yards, please be mindful of these devices. If your picking up your morning paper, or mowing your grass, or if you let your children out to play; whatever your activities are, please use the following precautions.
1) If you find a soda bottle or any other bottles, examine it carefully before you touch it or get near it. If it shows signs of swelling, or melting in any way, DO NOT TOUCH IT! Call 911 and let us respond to take care of it.
2) If you find a soda bottle that has any liquid in it, DO NOT TOUCH IT! Call 911 and let us respond to check it / dispose of it.
Both bombs this morning appeared to be slightly swollen, with a dark colored liquid, inside of it. This liquid could have easily been mistaken for left over soda.
I know that calling 911 for a soda bottle may sound silly or like a misuse of your Police protection but trust me, it is not. You do not want one of these devices detonating in your hand or your children's hands or in your pets face. We are here to incur the danger for you so that you are and your loved ones are not harmed. So please check your yard thoroughly before letting your children out to play and be mindful before you just deem that soda bottle as garbage and pick it up.
In closing, please educate your children on the dangers and consequences of making these devices. It has become popular with the youth in the past few years, to do this as a prank, but there have been some changes to the law. Not only could it be deadly to the maker or the victim, but making one these devices is called, "Possession of a Substance with Explosive Capabilities". If it causes no damage, its a 15 year Felony. If it causes damage, its a 20 year Felony. If it causes physical injury, its a 25 year Felony. If it causes serious injury, the penalty can be "Up to life", and if it causes death, its Mandatory Life without the possibility of Parole. These are statutory guidelines only. These penalties are what could be imposed but it does not necessarily mean that these penalties would be imposed.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to call me or send me an email. Please be safe and have a great day.

Origins: The above-quoted e-mail was a warning sent out by Washtenaw County Sheriff's Deputy Keith Mansell in April 2010 after he discovered two Drano (or "works") bombs left in the yards of residents of York Township, Michigan. As shown in the video below, these concoctions of Drano brand drain cleaner (i.e., sodium hydroxide), water, and aluminum foil in plastic bottles can indeed produce quite dangerous explosions:
How about you?
So many needs
It has been on my mind a lot lately how it seems like there are so many needs any more. Every week at Sunday school we add more folks to our prayer list. And it seems like the needs are more serious now days.
You may have noticed that some of my Internet/blogging friends have prayer requests that are on my list on my side bar. If you have a need/prayer request you want added to my list just let me know.
If you feel led please pray my prayer list. Some of the folks are people I just regularly pray for like my family and those with needs are listed along with what I am praying for them.
As always I seek God's will in my life and in the lives of those I pray for. If you could do the same it would be great.
Psa 66:18 If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:
Psa 66:19 But verily God hath heard me; he hath attended to the voice of my prayer.
Joh 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.

Velcro everything
I have been spending hours sewing Velcro on shirts and pants for my dad. This morning I got the bright idea to sew it on his pants because he cant get them buttoned and walks around holding his pants up until some one can button them for him. So far that seems to be working good. I drove to Guymon today so dad could buy cigarettes and I could buy more Velcro to sew on his pants and shirts.
On the shirts I move the button to the other side so it appears the shirt is properly buttoned. I then sew a Velcro closure on so that instead of buttoning he can just slap them together.
Now I have three more shirts I think to fix like that for him and three pairs of pants.
For therapy I asked him to zip and un-zip a zipper and button and un-button a shirt. He wanted things he had to use two hands to do.
On the way home from Guymon I had him switch the air conditioner to certain spots. He got mad and said, "I cant see through my hand." I said "Well then reposition your hand, don't use that as an excuse not to do it." He repositioned his hand and it worked better. I have figured out that when he snaps at me to just ignore it. He just gets frustrated and so do I. Life.

Off to Amarillo
This morning we got up early so we could drive to Amarillo to take Joy to the airport. She is going to California to a friends wedding. We went to Sam's Club, Harbor Freight, Fazolies, and Barnes and Noble.
Then we took the scenic route home, and it took twice as long but the drive was pretty.
We got home at about the same time that Joy got to California. She will drive back with some friends of hers from Bible College around the 3rd. of July.
I bought Jeff a new cordless drill, his died. For myself I bought a brake bleed kit. I read where you can use it to seal jars in place of a seal a meal or vacuum thing. I will try it out with my dehydrated food.
At Sam's Club I bought 50# of rice, 2 jars of dehydrated mushrooms, a jar of chicken base, a big container of Italian seasoning, and two big cartons of sliced fresh mushrooms which I put into the dehydrator right away upon arriving home. I want to compare my dehydrated with the freeze dried, cost, amount, etc. I am fairly certain that the home dehydrated is a better deal.
The only thing I wanted and could not find was some sour cream powder. I may have to purchase that at a mail order store. I also need some mylar bags and oxygen absorbers. Then I can make up some of the meals from the book Dinner is in the jar. For now I will probably put the meals in mason type jars and seal them with the brake bleed kit.
For supper tonight I will either fix breakfast for supper of chicken fried steaks. I will have to see what everyone wants.
I am hoping Mollie will be coming home Friday or Saturday. I miss her. I haven't seen her since a week ago Sunday when she left for her second camp. Harvest should be over by then and I can go get her.
My dad is ready to go home as well. He has enjoyed his stay here but he wants to be at his own place. Also we do not have TV so that makes a huge difference for him. I got him three more books at the library today to help.

Super busy day
The girls and I got up early today to do a BIG clean. We worked outside while it was still cool and then moved inside to work.
Someone is coming to look at our house this evening so we have been cleaning like crazy. Joy thought we should just surface clean but I wanted to deep clean. We still could clean for several more hours but it will have to do. I am pooped. I sure am glad my girls know how to clean. Joy is a very good organizer. I appreciate that.
We cleaned hard for a total of about 8 hours today. When Jeff gets home I have a couple of chores for him to do as well.
We still have to take the clothes off the line, fold and put them away. Light candles about 30 minutes before the showing and I think that is all for now.
I should take pictures while the house looks decent for a home tour. Maybe I can get Joy to do that.

Happy Fathers Day
I am blessed to have two great dad's. I have my dad who adopted me when I was about two years old and is the only dad I had growing up. And then my step dad who never had children of his own but loves us like we were. Its kind of ironic that neither of my dad's are biological but both love me and my sisters like they were.
I had a biological dad who I met when I was 13 and never had any kind of relationship with, although I have gotten to know my two half sisters from him who I love very much.
I grew up with two sisters and also have two half sisters. Although my two sisters I grew up with are no relation to my other two half sisters. So with my mom and my biological dad I am an only child, I am a middle child with the two I grew up with and the oldest of my other two sisters. I could also be classified as the second oldest of five girls. Its kind of fun to think about that one.
Back to my dad's. While growing up I feel like I was blessed. My mom and dad were divorced when I was in 7th grade. Being an adopted daughter my dad could have quit me too, but he never did. To this day I am one of his daughters just as I have been from day one. Even his friends he grew up with have forgotten until they are reminded that I and my older sister were adopted. Its not important. We are family and always will be.
When I had my own third daughter almost 18 years ago, my mom married my step dad. He has been a blessing to our family ever since.
In my family I have always been grateful that we can always have family gatherings and not have to worry about who will be there, they all come and visit with each other and actually have concern for each other. I have always appreciated that. I know it is because they are mature and have some concern for the other and their place in the family.

Frugal fly trap
This is a recipe for a frugal home made fly catcher. The one's you buy at the farm stores are smelly and expensive. My home made version works like wonders and is frugal. Here's what you do.
Take one empty 2 litre pop bottle (I like to take the label off but you don't have to)
Insert one banana peel
1 c. apple cider vinegar
1 c. sugar
Fill to where the bottle begins to slope at the top with warm water.
Replace the cap and shake.
Tie a wire or string around the top of the bottle and hang in the branches of a tree. Remove the bottle top and save for when you want to discard the full bottle.
The fly trap will fill and a 3 or 4 inch layer will form near the top, then suddenly it will sink to the bottom and a new layer will form. This will continue until the bottle is full. At which point you can replace the lid, remove from the tree and discard and replace with a new fly trap.
We put these all over the yard in the trees. Its amazing how they work. These are especially helpful if you have barn animals. I have found that these work best if they can be placed in tree branches as opposed to hung on a fence or the like. I don't know why.

Pasta Salad
1 package of tiny shells, cooked
2T. McCormick Salad Supreme Seasoning
1/2 c. Italian salad dressing
1/4 c. red wine vinegar (if you have it)
Cook pasta, cool by running water over. Drain. Mix other ingredients and toss with pasta. Mix often as sauce will settle to bottom of bowl.
Edited to add: I didn't use the red wine vinegar and I thought it needed something so I grated some Muenster cheese and added it. Maybe about a half a cup.

Blood stain removal
With my dad staying here I have learned a thing or two. Many of you may already know this but maybe you are like me and didn't know.
Hydrogen peroxide will take out blood stains. Dad's skin is very thin and tends to tear easy. I found out that if you pour the peroxide on the stain on the fabric and let it sit for a few minutes, then blot with a clean cloth, the stain will come out. It took a couple of applications but the stain did come out.

Easy Lemonade
I finally got around to making my lemon poke cake today. I baked it early this morning before it got too hot.
This afternoon I wanted some lemonade. Not koolaid but real lemonade. I used lemon juice I have in my refrigerator. Here is the recipe I used.
1 c. boiling water
3/4 c. xylitol or sugar
mix and cool down with ice cubes
add
1 c. lemon juice
1/4 t. lemon extract
ice and water
This recipe is a little more sour than the koolaid version and tastes more like real lemonade.

Another email I received
This is a short test that shouldn't be too hard to complete. There are no answers at the bottom nor will I grade your test. If you cant instantly find the answer then you are not a true American. IMO. If you have trouble completing the test or it offends you then go home to your own country. If you cannot read it because it is in English, then learn to speak and read English.

.No, I really don't see a pattern here to justify profiling, do you? So, to ensure we Americans never offend anyone, particularly fanatics intent on killing us, airport security screeners will no longer be allowed to profile certain people.
They must conduct random searches of 80-year-old women, little kids, airline pilots with proper identification, secret agents who are members of the President's security detail, 85-year old Congressmen with metal hips, and Medal of Honor winner and former Governor Joe Foss, but leave Muslim Males between the ages 17 and 40 alone lest they be guilty of profiling.

I got this as an email, I hope its true
OKLAHOMA MAY JUST BE THE PLACE TO LIVE
An update from Oklahoma:
Oklahoma law passed, 37 to 9, (had a few liberals in the mix), an amendment to place the Ten Commandments on the front entrance to the state capitol. The feds in D.C., along with the ACLU, said it would be a mistake. Hey this is a conservative state, based on Christian values...! HB 1330
Guess what.......... Oklahoma did it anyway..
Oklahoma recently passed a law in the state to incarcerate all illegal immigrants, and ship them back to where they came from unless they want to get a green card and become an American citizen. They all scattered. HB 1804. Hope we didn't send any of them to your state This was against the advice of the Federal Government, and the ACLU, they said it would be a mistake.
Guess what....... Oklahoma did it anyway.
Recently we passed a law to include DNA samples from any and all illegals to the Oklahoma database, for criminal investigative purposes. Pelosi said it was unconstitutional. SB 1102
Guess what........ Oklahoma did it anyway.
Several weeks ago, we passed a law, declaring Oklahoma as a Sovereign state, not under the Federal Government directives. Joining Texas, yep, Montana and Utah as the only states to do so. More states are likely to follow: Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia, the Carolina's, Tennessee, Kentucky, Missouri, Arkansas, West Virginia, Mississippi, Florida. Save your confederate money, it appears the South is about to rise up once again. HJR 1003
The federal Government has made bold steps to take away our guns. Oklahoma, a week ago, passed a law confirming people in this state have the right to bear arms and transport them in their vehicles. I'm sure that was a set back for the criminals (and Obamaites). Liberals didn't like it -- But ....
Guess what........... Oklahoma did it anyway.
Just this month, the state has voted and passed a law that ALL driver's license exams will be printed in English, and only English, and no other language. They have been called racist for doing this, but the fact is that ALL of the road signs are in English only. If you want to drive in Oklahoma , you must read and write English. Really simple. By the way, Obama does not like any of this.
Guess what....who cares... Oklahoma is doing it anyway.

Yeah, my dad is here to visit for a few days
Yesterday, I drove to Dodge to get my dad out of the hospital. I didn't know what to expect. When I got to his room, he was dressed and ready to go. He walked out to my pickup and is doing very well.
My sister invited a bunch of family to come for hamburgers last night so we had a time of family fellowship. Some of the men loaded a twin bed into the pick up my sister let me borrow.
My other sister Carol and her honey Dewayne bought an air conditioner for the room where dad will be staying.
Roberta also gave me some beef.
I have a great family.
Dad and I got around this morning and drove to my house. We arrived here just before noon. When we got here I went to town and found a couple of people to come here and help me rearrange the furniture. That way, when Jeff gets home from work all he will have to do is put the air conditioner in the window. Now Jeff just text'd me and said he will be working until at least 10 pm. He went in at 5am, that's a long day.
Maybe I better look at the air conditioner to see if I can figure out how to put it in. You do what you have to do.
I am so excited to have my dad here for a while. I have asked and asked him to come visit. I told him that he is a captive now and cant leave. He said he could hitch hike and I said good luck, you aren't as pretty as you used to be. He laughed.
We are going to do physical therapy together while he is here. He needs something to do using both hands for practice. I told him he could sit with one of his shirts in his lap and button and unbutton it. I thought of a couple other things to do too. If anyone have any great ideas let me know.
Thanks for your prayers.

My dad went to the hospital
Today I went to town and forgot to bring my cell phone. No big deal I thought. Turns out my they thought my dad had had a stroke and sent him to hospital in an ambulance. The doctors determined that he did not have a stroke but he is very weak. This morning he apparently fell a couple of times and could not get himself dressed. I don't think he has been doing his physical therapy.
He called my sister and she called the ambulance. Both of my sisters who live in the same town as him feel he is not able to be at home alone right now. I am making arrangements to bring him here. Our house is set up so that the bedrooms are all upstairs so I will make the former formal sitting room into a room for my dad. Its a beautiful room, I take company there.
I am hoping that dad can be taken care of here so that he gains enough strength that he can return to his apartment. He lives in an apartment in my sisters back yard.
Jeff just came home and he had the idea of me going to his house and staying a couple of days with him to evaluate the situation. That would give us more time to decide what to bring here and such. I will call my sister and see what she thinks about that idea.

Pink Monkey Education
My friend Kristy who owns the Breakfast Club in Guymon asked me to educate her waitresses about Pink Monkey Soap. After telling them about my product I gave each lady a bar of soap and a jar of body whip. I asked them to use the product so that when customers asked about it they would have first hand experience from using it. They were very happy to get free product.

Body Whip
Teaching an education class
Kristy, a friend of mine who owns and operates The Breakfast Club in Guymon has asked me to do an educational class for her this afternoon. She carries my products, Pink Monkey Soap at her restaurant. She feels like her employees need educated about my products so they can do a better job of selling them.
So I am giving each employee a bar of Pink Monkey Soap and a jar of Body Whip to try. I believe if they try my products they will love them and will be enthusiastic with their praise and be able to sell my products much better.
Kristy also owns the Daddy'O's sub shop. I think she may eventually put Pink Monkey Soap in there as well.
When the article about me comes out in August I am hoping that sales go way up. I gave the lady who is writing the article some soap as well as a few other ladies in that department. She loves it already. I need to drop a jar of Body Whip by so she can try that as well. When you first start something, sometimes you have to give stuff away to get people hooked on your product.
I met a lady at Daddy O's yesterday who said she loves my soap, I said of course you do. If you try it, you love it.

A couple of new patterns for tops
Home made dust masks
When we make stone we wear those disposable dust masks. Yesterday I got to thinking I could make my own. This morning when I went to get a disposable mask, I discovered they were all gone. I used another kind we have that is not my favorite.
Later I made several dust masks. I think they will work fine. We wash our clothes every day after working so I will just throw the masks in with the other work clothes.

I cant get it fixed.
Sorry about the previous post. I cant get it to act normal. I thought I would change how the pictures were loaded and really messed it up.
Taco's for 130 people
On Tuesday a few ladies and I drove 1 hour and 20 minutes to cook at the junior camp in Laverne Oklahoma. We made tacos. Krista Stinson was in charge of getting things rounded up for the meal. The Spearman church made the desserts. The ladies who came to help were Glenda and Dolinda Witten, Rosemary Diaz, Diana Summerford, Krista Stinson and myself. A lady from the Spearman church brought the desserts but I cant remember her name.
Small things make me happy
Christina has a ring tone of someone whistling. I love it. She was finally able to send it to me and now I have it for a ring tone. It is so soothing. Simple things make me happy. Thank you Christina.
Strange comments
I keep getting comments from anonymous about a message board. I always reject them, is anyone else getting these weird comments?
Hannah is home. Now she is going to a friends house to spend the night. I am no longer an important person in her life. Tomorrow I think she is going to another friends for a slumber party and then she leaves for camp on Sunday. Boo hoo.

Bout time to quit
We have gotten quite a bit done today. First off we made stone. The new guy did a good job. I took at least five pallets of stone to the front lot with the fork lift.
Then Jeff and I mowed, he with the tractor and me on the riding lawn mower.
I then decided to take a couple of dead trees to the burn pile and got the forklift stuck. I left the hose on last night, whoops. Jeff got the truck and pulled me out.
After lunch Jeff and I watched a movie. Outsourced. Not too bad. No bad language but definitely some innuendo.
Got the drip hose installed in the greenhouse and made 5 gallons of liquid soap, washed and hung out a load of laundry and made a batch of body whip.
Getting ready to package the body whip in the new jars I bought.
I think I will relax this evening and not do too much.
Tomorrow after stone I will cut Dolinda's hair and then a few of us are heading to Lavern to cook supper for the church camp.

I'll sick McEntire on you, yeah you
We have a friend from church who is a single lady in her 50's. She is a hoot. She keeps up with everyone by phone. Her favorite singer is Reba so she named her dog McEntire. I probably spelled that wrong but you get my drift. The lady's name is Emma.
Emma called today while we were working outside and this is the message she left.
Get out of this heat.
I'm gonna sick McEntire on you.
You don't need to be out in this heat .....its too hot.
Even McEntire's laying around.
Yeah.
See ya tomorra.

This n that
My dad had a small stroke a while back and has lost most of the use of his left hand. He has trouble buckling his belt, buttoning his shirt etc. I have been looking for ways to help. One thing he asked me to do was to sew Velcro on his shirts, I did, he said it didn't help much as you still had to have two hands.
I guess if he had lost the use of one hand a long time ago he would have learned to compensate. At this stage of the game its harder for him.
Recently he asked me to make a bag of sorts for him to put his soap in that would be easier to hang on to. I made a couple of bags out of wash cloths but I also took a few Johnson & Johnson bath buddies. These I have gotten free with coupons. They are for babies. I asked him how the soap thing was working and he said the bath buddies worked the best.
I will now be looking harder for coupons to get the bath buddies free. And I wanted to tell you all so if you know someone older who has had a stroke or just someone who has a hard time holding the soap, try the bath buddies. They are located in the baby section of Wal Mart and cost 99cents.
I bought some stretch fabric to make gauchos yesterday. Last night I cut out three pairs and I have one more to cut out today. Then I will sit down and sew them all up. Then I have to find blouses to match.
The lady from PTCI is going to come today to take pictures of me making soap. I will have to ask her when the article will come out.

Soon to be childless
Today is Thursday and on Saturday morning the girls leave for Junior camp. They are both working there this summer. Then next week they attend Senior camp as campers. Then Joy flies to California for a wedding and will be gone for a couple of weeks. And Mollie is suppose to go to Kansas to babysit a cousins kids during harvest.
I have been thinking of what I want to do while the girls are gone. Its so rare that I am alone, I have to think about it.
I think one thing I want to do is sew. Maybe work on one room at a time, cleaning, sorting and arranging. I will have to do all the chores myself and all the mowing as well. At least the vegetables will not be ready to harvest. Jeff should have the tractor fixed by then so I can mow the larger areas. The riding mower is fixed so that is a huge blessing.
Yesterday, I stopped in to PTCI, the local phone/Internet/cell company to drop off a few bars of soap for a lady who is writing a story about my soap making. She had a few questions to ask me so we talked for about 30 min. She wanted to take my picture but it just scared me to death and I said no. I don't know why I am that way. I used to be a professional photographer with a big studio. She said she wanted to come out and take photo's while I make soap. I told her that was fine as long as she only takes pictures of my hands. I am sure I will get used to the idea and let her take pictures of me. I am what I am.
Unless I can find two men to work two hours a day for me we will be done making stone tomorrow. Jr. is leaving for New Mexico, the girls are off to camp and I cant make stone alone so production will grind to a halt. It's hard to find someone who will drive out here for only two hours. So we will see. Jr. said he would think about it and see if he could think of anyone he would trust to work here. He knows that if I wouldn't want someone here socially, I sure wouldn't want them to work here. We live and work in the same place.
Joy passed her drivers test yesterday so she is good to go. Now she can drive herself and her sisters to and from camps.

Joy is getting her drivers license
Joy has an appointment this afternoon to get her drivers license. It has taken a long time because every auto we own has a cracked windshield and you cant have that to take the test. Joy got her new to her car and it has a good windshield but the horn doesn't work.
Its always something you know. So we are borrowing a friends car and Joy needs to drive it a bit to get used to it so she can take her test.
No one we know has an auto that has a good windshield that lives out in the country like we do. Jeff even asked the guys at work and all their windshields have cracks. Its a conspiracy I tell ya. LOL.
Anyway it will be good when she gets her license so she can go places without us.

Sewing project
I bought this pattern a few weeks ago because Joy and Mollie like to wear these stretchy, swingy type of pants. View C. I think I am going to try making a pair for myself. The pattern says for stretch knits only so I will have to look through my stash to see if I have any available.
I love wearing Capri type pants and its pretty much all I wear all through the warm seasons. Maybe this will be a way to wear pants, yet be dressed up at the same time.
When we go to camp meeting I like to wear a dress to services which are three or four times a day. Something like this would help me keep cool in the un air-conditioned chapel as well as look nice.
For some reason I really don't like cutting out the pieces to sew, I could sew all day if I just didn't have to pin and cut out the pieces. That may be why I sew so much original stuff that doesn't take a pattern

Joy got her car tagged
We receive the notarized title for Joy's new to her car today so we sent to Guymon and got it tagged. It is now legal to drive. We had not been driving it because of the tags. Now we can.
Next Joy needs to get her regular drivers license. In Oklahoma your car must have no cracks in the windshield, the blinkers must work, also the horn and such as that. We do not even own a car with out cracks in the windshield. Not too many people in this area do.
Joy's new to her car has no cracks. But alas, her horn doesn't work. We have to borrow a car from someone who lives in town. Its always something.
We finished making the corners for our last order. Tomorrow when we pull them we are putting those molds in the shed and no making corners for a while. They are sure hard to make and take so much time.
By Friday we will have 900 square feet of field stone on the sales lot. Next week I want to start a darker base color with four face colors. Brown, red, black and green. They are shades of these colors of course.
I need to hire a temporary worker while the girls are at all the church camps they go to and work at. Their summer is very busy. Summer is when I build up my stock on the stone lot though so its still time to work for me.
