  • We are not covering open carry.
  • We are not covering what happens if you are in violation of a crime.
  • We are covering if you are legally obliged to inform law enforcement as to your legal concealment of a firearm without first being asked.
  • If you are in a state where firearms registration is required as a condition to receive a permit, or are required to have a permit to acquire, or any of the other convoluted mechanisms prior to being a legal, concealed carrier in that state – this list assumes you have lawfully completed those conditions.  So if you have not completed those processes, this list isn’t for you.
  • This article is written (and researched) from the perspective that if you are:
    1. Legally allowed to conceal a firearm AND
    2. …You are stopped by law enforcement THEN
    3. Are you required to inform them you have a concealed firearm on your person?
  • Duty To Inform is taken to mean, in the context of this article, a specific lawful duty to inform a member of law enforcement without being asked first.
  • This does not include the provision “if asked”.
  • If you are asked, you are legally required to produce your valid concealed carry permit.

PORTUGUESE BIBLES/TRACTS A RARE COMMODITY IN MOZAMBIQUE

Nelius Franken of Cape Town, S. Africa, brings 15 BOXES of Portuguese tracts and and 2 BOXES of BIBLES as a gift to the people we minister too.  This greatly needed for the 60 new students who have enrolled for our BUSH BIBLE SCHOOL in Namuno District with Teacher/Evangelist Alberto.

But Cattle and Sheep Rancher, Nelius Franken, spends over 30 days each African winter (June/July), delivering invaluable Portuguese tracts and Bibles to remote areas like ours.  I was greatly surprised last Sunday afternoon when he drove up, as he had lost my phone number and couldn’t let me know he was coming.  After a quick unloading, we sat down to supper and great Christian fellowship, as he had to hit the road at 5:30a.m. the next morning.
THOUSANDS will benefit from this great literature about Jesus Christ.
The day before when Pastor Alberto left to start 2 Bush Bible Schools, I was only able to send SIX BIBLES (1/church) for the 830 new believers, because our supply was almost gone.
GOD IS NEVER LATE!  He knew the need, and had them on the way long before the gospel was ever presented to these 6 bush villages.

PEANUT HARVEST ALMOST NON EXISTENT THIS YEAR

We asked Jessus for peanuts, and they are rolling in , one bag at a time.

MUCH THANKS to the village women willing to walk several miles with a bag of peanuts on their heads so that our kids can have peanuts in their corn porridge for breakfast.  Peanuts are 1 of only 2 vegetable protein sources we have, and are considered a great treat, even when the harvest is good.  Currently, we have 30 bags and we need 60.  We asked God to provide it, and it is rolling in, 1 bag at a time.
30 TONS OF CORN AND BEANS FEEDS OVER 1,800 ORPHANS AND WIDOWS THIS WEEK

Master Carpenter Mario, 62 years old, hard at work in our carpentry shop.  In the last 10 years, he’s made almost every door, window, and table for the entire mission station.  Sitting on the floor is their favorite work place.  Mario converted from Islam to Christianity after 6 years of listening to morning devotions at our mission station.

Our trucks have been rolling, rolling, rolling, as we spent all of Wed., Thursday, and Friday doing a massive food give out to hungry orphans and widows.  The poor harvest has affected the whole district, so the children have already run out of food from their fields.  We will distribute to the last 2 villages on Monday, to complete the give out till first part of September.

Sun up is 6a.m. and the swings are swinging by 7 each morning!  Never too cold to have a little fun.

BUSH BUNNY GOING TO SOUTH AFRICA, AUG. 1ST
Had my yearly physical and need a bit of maintenance as the ole Gall Bladder is not liking me very much.  I’ll have it checked out, but need a miracle healing or it will have to be removed.
Prayers for a fast recovery are appreciated, as laparoscopic surgery is normally a 7 day recovery.  Plan to be back in Moz. (after a bit of shopping and hopefully some great food) by August 17th.  I’ve been on a bland, no fat diet for the last 30 days and I can tell you, it is BORING!
Capena and our staff will hold down the program while I’m gone.  Keep us all covered in prayer, as it is a big responsibility for him to take on total leadership of our children’s programs.
    Blessings,

    CAPENA RESCUES MOTHER HAVING TRIPLETS!

At 3pm Wed., I received a call from the Balama Hospital Administrator begging our assistance to fetch a mother in difficult labor.  Their only ambulance was in route to Pemba, taking patients to the State Hospital.
Capena, our Office Administrator, raced off to fetch this mother in distress in the Namara Village, 7 miles (14 km) away.  Upon arrival, 1 baby had been born, and he said it was obvious there was another baby that was breach.  Jesus answered our prayers for this woman and her little ones, as He directed the hands of the new Doctor in Balama.  The Doctor, with the Lord’s help, worked a miracle by TURNING THE BABY IN UTERO so that it was born without a C-section.  C-sections can only be done in the Regional Hospital in MONTEPUEZ, 30 miles (60 km) away.  He knew this little one would not last long enough to make that trip. Little did anyone know, there was a THIRD INFANT patiently waiting for his sibling to get out of the way!

Thursday morning, the Hospital Administrator called again, asking for 3 baby bottles and milk formula.  All 3 are “hanging in there”.
The mother and her husband are members of our Namara church.  Once they are released, we will blessed them with whatever support they need to keep their 3 little ones healthy.

Manuel and crew tightening the swing bolts.  These swings rarely stop in the daylight, and onstant use caused some of the bolts to loosen.

SATURDAY, 7a.m.:  Where are our kids?  Nothing like a Super Slide Ride for some early morning fun!

PASTOR ALBERTO OFF TO THE BUSH.  BIBLE SCHOOLS TO BEGIN IN AUGUST

Pastor Alberto traveling back to Namuno to open 2 Bush Bible Schools using International Victory Bible Institute Curriculum.
60 new converts eagerly await his arrival this week.

After having such a warm welcome in 6 villages, many of the 830 new believers will now sign up to study the Bible with Pastor Alberto as their teacher.
Pastor Alberto returned home last week to rest and refresh, as well as get the much needed supplies for the Bible Schools.
We sent him off with notebooks, pens, and New Testaments for those who can read and write.  Illiteracy is about 85% in these villages.
He plans to start 2 Bible Schools in central areas so that several villages can join him in one location.  Will keep you posted on how it goes.

BUILD A VILLAGE CHURCH FOR $160!

The 830 new converts in these 6 villages of Namuno will cut and haul the fence posts,  and do all the work needed to build each of the 6 grass roofed churches.
Bamboo and grass must be bought as it doesn’t exist in that area.
Each church took up an offering to help with the costs, but it is far from enough.
Each $160 gift will purchase 100 large bundles of grass, and 25 bundles of bamboo.
Each roof will be 12 feet wide (4 meters) and 45 feet (15 meters) long.
If you’d like to help with any size gift,  just put church roof fund in your gift’s memo space.

BY WORKING TOGETHER, THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST WILL BE HEARD BY THE MULTITUDES!

JULY “SUPER DRY” CORN now in the barn.   (all 118 tons of it)  Distributions to over 1,800 orphans begins this coming week.

BUSH BUNNY RESCUES ORPHAN WITH BROKEN ARM

AS I sat writing this blog today, my phone rang.  Pastor Salazar told me that one of our orphan boys had fallen from a tree in a remote area. (Boys will be boys!)
They would bring him to the nearest road by bicycle, if I could send someone to fetch them.  With it being Saturday, our “rest day” (ha ha!), and no other drivers around, the Bush Bunny rocketed off in her King Cab pick-up to the designated meeting place, hoping they had managed to somehow splint his arm.

When I arrived, I was IMPRESSED to see the arm WELL SPLINTED with bamboo and a torn up piece of cloth.  And to think these men never took a first aid class!

We whisked him off to the Balama hospital, where the nurses at the emergency room expertly set and casted 8 year old Sandreque’s (Sand-dree-key) forearm.   Sandreque is one of the 6 orphans growing up with his older sister as the leader in the CHILD HEADED HOUSEHOLD we sponsor in Nacala Village.
He’s now home and doing well, but I think the old fashion plaster cast weighs more than both his arms put together.  Proper slings do not exist here, so we made him one from a piece of cloth I took with.

Your prayers for his speedy recovery are much needed.

    Blessings and Many Thanks!

GOD’S SPIRIT MOVING MIGHTILY:  830 COME TO CHRIST IN 6 VILLAGES

In the last 14 days, Pastor Alberto, has been evangelizing in NAMUNO DISTRICT.  Specifically the 6 remote (unreached) villages surrounding our SHIMWHEELY (Shim-wheel-ee) church.
His new off-road motor bike is greatly paying for itself as it gets him to places where the gospel of Jesus Christ has never been heard.

The numbers above reflect only ADULT attendance, as the children at each meeting were “too numerous to count”!
The harvest is ripe and Jesus is moving in a big way in rural areas!

    UNUSUAL CHALLENGES

Last week a huge swarm of HONEY BEES attached him as he rode back to Shimwheely from an evangelistic meeting in one of these villages.
He scraped a tree, as he tried to out distance them, and, PTL, was not injured besides a few bee stings.
Only minor damage was done to the mirror and light on the bike, so we are grateful that both man and bike survived the attack.  Our bees are known for killing people here with the sheer mass of venom that a swarm can inject into a person.
Keep Pastor Alberto in prayer for safety.

COLD WEATHER: AN ADDED FIRE HAZARD WITH GRASS ROOFS

Pastor Alberto called Friday afternoon to ask help as the Shimwheely Church’s Assistant Pastor’s house caught fire on Friday.  They lost everything.

The parents were harvesting food in their field, leaving the oldest child to look after the younger children at home.  The oldest was cooking breakfast for the younger ones, when a heavy wind swirled by, picking up embers from the fire, and lofted them into the grass roof of their mud hut.  MUD HUTS WITH GRASS ROOFS explode into flames faster than a dried up Christmas Tree!  I’ve seen this first hand, and everything inside the mud hut is lost in about 10 minutes.

    YOUR GIFTS AT WORK:

We are getting together a “care package” of essentials to help them out, and will be sending it to their location Sunday morning.  Pastor Alberto will return with the truck for a few days brief visit to his family before returning to the bush to disciple these new believers.

30 TONS OF RICE IN THE BARN, WITH 117 TONS OF SUPER DRY CORN ON IT’S WAY

Our trucks don’t rest during food buying time, and this week’s program was RICE (in the hull)!
We buy it from the villagers, straight from their fields located under MAKU MOUNTAIN, just 12 miles away.  Maku is the tallest mountain in all of Mozambique, and looks just like a huge set of Micky Mouse Ears.

Busy week ahead for sure, but then the barns will be full.

August begins distribution time, when all that has come in, will then go out to the orphans in need.

Baby Sozinho and Foster Mother Fatima, came bundled up to receive additional baby food today.  Sozinho now weighs 9.9 lbs (4.45kg) at 6.5 months.

51F AND WINDY, NOT FUNNY WHEN THAT IS BEDROOM CONDITIONS AT 4 A.M.

Bundled Bunny is a better name for me these days as I usually wear 2 layers of clothes to bed, and put on a 3rd when getting up predawn.

In Moz., we only have 2 “cool” months which have turned into RECORD COLD MONTHS this year.  This week’s low set a new record with temps recorded at 51F (13C) INSIDE our homes, and a bitter 48F (12C) outside, made worse by a strong, steady wind.

You may laugh, but we have no heat in our homes, since HOT is our norm.  So huddling over a hot cup of tea, is the usual routine for me as I get up pre-dawn to have time with the Lord, and get ready for the day’s work.  Taking a bath at midday is the norm, as it is too cold by sundown.

So while you sweat in the USA, remember that Bush Bunny’s do NOT come with Snow Suits!

    Until next week!

    Blessings,

    Bush Bunny Brenda Lange

    Magic cleaner

    Magic Cleaner..
    2 oz. Dawn,
    4 oz. bottled Lemon Juice,
    8 oz. White Vinegar,...

    10 oz. Water.

The secret is to spray on surface, let sit overnight (or longer) and then wipe with clean, wet cloths to remove residue.
*In the oven, do NOT use heat, just spray, let sit, wipe clean.
*For showers, just spray, rinse and if you like the shine, wipe with dry towels.
*The secret on whatever you chose to clean is to let it sit, then rinse off the residue. Amazing stuff!
