My church ladies group was in the local paper

Some local women have teamed up to show their love and compassion to people they will probably never meet.
Panhandle Bible Center in Guymon has a group of women who formed a ministry they call "God's Women in Action." The goal of the group is to "show God's love through our willing hands and hearts."
There were 19 women in attendance of their first meeting earlier this month. The ladies first project is "Little Dresses for Africa" which is an organization created by a Michigan woman, Rachel O'Neill, who visited Africa a few years ago on a missions trip.
The conditions and treatment the children endured, inspired Rachel to make them feel loved and special. She came up with the idea of making dresses for girls and britches (shorts) for boys. After incorporating several friends to help make the clothes and missionary groups agreeing to take the items on their trips to Africa, the idea became a reality.
Rachel has made four trips to Africa herself to personally deliver the dresses, her last trip being this past September.
The word of Rachel's project spread rapidly and Girl Scout troops, church groups and sewing/quilting groups and individuals in 36 states have joined in this effort of love.
Rachel receives, on average, two - three boxes of dresses per week sent to her and as of this summer, more than 26,000 dresses have been delivered to eight countries in Africa through missionaries.
Through Rachel's dream, both the giver and receiver of the dresses and britches are blessed by God.
Since teaming up with the project, "God's Women in Action" have, to date, made nearly 100 dresses and several britches and wish to send "a special Thank You to Guymon Sewing Center, Guymon's Wal-Mart Super Center, Quilted Treasure's Quilt Shop in Liberal, Kans. and personal financial donors for generously donating material, sewing supplies and notions for out Little Dresses project."
The group plans their next meeting for Nov. 9th to continue making the dresses and britches.
The group says, "We are exited to see what God has in store for our ministry as our church continues to grow!"
