Mom's okra and dill pickle canning recipes

Mom’s Okra recipe for canning



Small tender okra leave as much stem as possible, wash and drain, prick each pod to allow solution to enter.

Pack in jars, small bunch of dill for each dill, can use dill seed. 2 t.


3 cups apple cider vinegar

3 cups water

6 T. canning salt

Mix together and boil. Pour over to within ½ inch of top.

Can add a clove of garlic or a jalapeno.

Easy Dill Pickle

1 quart apple cider vinegar

4 quarts water

1 cup canning salt

Mix and heat.

Cut cucumbers into slices, spears or leave whole. Fill jars with cucumbers.

1 head of dill in each jar

1 teaspoon alum

1 clove garlic
