The doctors at the crippled children's hospital found out why J'Tiah walks like she does. Her hips are both out of place. The ball is about an inch and a half above the socket. The socket has filled with fat and tissue. It will require at least two surgeries. Casts and braces for at least a year and a half. The socket normally forms around the ball and makes a C shape. Since the ball was not in the socket the shape is more flat and not C shaped to hold the ball in.
My niece asked repeatedly for the doctors to check her. She wasn't crawling right. She wasn't walking right, etc. They told her in St. Louis that if it had been caught earlier it would have been a matter of putting the ball back in the socket and keep doing that until it stayed. No surgeries and casts and braces.
While we are thankful she can be helped we are upset she has to go through this because the doctors wouldn't listen to my niece. It hurts to know J'Tiah will have to go through so much pain that could have been prevented. Please pray that two surgeries will do it and that J'Tiah's outgoing personality shines and blesses others as she goes through this ordeal.
May God bless J'Tiah, Ryan and Nicketta.
