Joy's Bible College
Linda at Beautifully Veiled left a comment about my having a child who has the opportunity to take a prophecy class and one that even wanted to. It got me to thinking about telling about the college Joy attends.
The post title is Joy's Bible College when in fact it is not Joy's college but the college she attends.
Now about the college.
The name of the Bible College is Apostolic Faith Bible College and it is located in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Its is way in the south east corner of Kansas. It is about 20 minutes or so from Joplin Missouri.
AFBC is a FREE college. The college is supported by Apostolic Faith Churches around the country and individuals, also other churches.
Students who attend the college are able to live in the dorms, FREE, get meals all week long, FREE and only pay a $25.00 per semester book fee. Students are even made meals that are placed in the fridge in the lunch room for weekend meals. The meals are leftovers from the week. Students must abide by a strict dress code and must follow all school rules. Drive in students may also attend FREE. Students are encouraged not to work if at all possible so they can devote time to study. Joy has been kept busy and hardly had time to get homesick.
She had a hard time the first month or so, but was kept busy and that helped keep the homesickness at bay.
She is a good student and so studies quite diligently and thoroughly. She was only 16 when she went to college. If she had been in public school she would only have been in her Junior year. She had enough credits to graduate so it seemed silly to make her continue to take classes in home school that were redundant. One thing we had talked about was doing online college which can count for both college and high school. We ended up sending her to AFBC because we felt she was ready and we wanted her to get such a firm foundation with God that it could never be shaken. I think she is at that point already.
If you or someone you know is interested in attending the Apostolic Faith Bible College go here and look around. If you want more information feel free to email Ron. http://apostolicfaithbiblecollege.com/index.html

Spring Choir Tour
Two times a year the Bible college that my daughter attends go on tour. Not all of the college go but many do. They make the rounds of churches in our movement who support the college. The Apostolic Bible College is a free college. Students get free tuition, meals and rooms. Several churches and former students help support the college. In return the students go on tour twice a year to the supporting churches. They hold a concert at each location. This is beneficial in at least two ways.
The students preform in front of audiences and that helps them be able to stand in front of others to teach or preach. The students also help in the churches while they are there.
For instance, if they are at a church on Sunday the students help teach classes.
The second benefit as I see it is that the churches who support the college get to meet the students and see that their donations are being used to train up men and women to serve God, whether in pastoral positions, teaching or missions.
The spring tour is longer than the fall tour. Listed below are the towns the tour will be in. If you are in one of the towns listed and you would like to see the concert just email me and I can get you the location and concert time. Concerts are all free.

Apostolic Faith Church in Masaka
The Kitchen At The Apostolic Faith Orphanage Where The Orphanage Matron Cooks Meals For The Orphan Children and Boils Their Drinking Water
Orphanage Utensil Rack Holding The Cups For Breakfast The 10 Half Buried Tires In The Background Is The Playground! We Need Kitchen Items and Eating Utensils. We need Corn Flour and Rice to feed the Children. 50 pounds of each will last about one month.
Children need school supplies, toys, etc. Please Pray With Us About These Needs.
Third Grade Class Is In Session The Apostolic Junior Academy now has an enrollment of 86 students. We have been open for less than one month. All are receiving an education in our Christian Curriculum. What a challenge. The Third Grade class is in progress. As the picture shows, we need more desks. We only have a total of 12 desks in the entire school we need 38 more to complete phase one for 100 students. Phase two will take us up to 200 students and we will need 100 desks at that time. 'Each desk is designed for two students. (If they are small students)
Mr. Wandwasi is teaching 16 students who are sharing 4 desks. Four students per desk. This should not be. Pray with us. Thank you Mr Wandwasi for your minsitry to God's children. By April 1, 2010, we predict we meet our student capacity of 200 students. Grades 1-6. Desks cost 30. US dollars each. Ultimately we need 100 desks, we only have 12. The Academy is open to the public. What an opportunity for the Great Commission! Pray with us for this need.
Inside The Boys Dorm Please Pray for 20 more bunk beds Sturdy Metal Bunk Bed with new mattress. Mosquito net is not shown. The Boys dorms now has 7 orphan boys ages 7-11. 5 boys have been sponsored (adopted) by USA believers at $30 a month.
We need two more sponsors. Will you pray with us that God will send sponsors for these two boys? $30 a month provides one child with clothing, bed, food and a Christian education.
The cost of one bunk bed set is $150. Includes ones bed two mattresses. Pictured is one occupied bed in the boys dorm.
Greetings from the Apostolic Faith Remnant Church in Masaka.. This is a newly planted church by Pastor Lawrence and Noella Ssemaganda. Attendance on Sunday averages about 100. Febuary 16, 2010
Greetings!
Words fail me as I try to come up with words that will ask you to help provide for the needs of the children. Pictures say it all. Will you pray and then give what the Lord tells you?
Thanks to all obedient friends who are supporting this part of the Great Commission. Suffer the little children to come unto me for such is the kingdom of God.
Praise The Lord For All He Has Done!

Good question
A commenter wrote this.
Hi,How can you get a graduate degree without an undergraduate degree?I didn't see any graduate degrees listed in their Student Handbook.I'm just trying to figure this out.
10 August,
My answer is this. On page 15 of the student handbook it gives the hours required for an undergraduate degree, in this case 120 hours for a BSM (Bachelor of Science in ministry). It also says some hours may be transferred from another college if you have previously attended one. Hope this helps.
I want to also note that on page 10 of the student handbook, it says that the college is looking for accreditation. I am happy to announce that at camp meeting this year the dean of the college announced that they have received accreditation.
