Busy day, busy tomorrow

Today was a busy day. My friend called me last night and asked if I would come and make new curtains for the restaurant she is opening of Friday. No pressure. lol
I spent 8 hours sewing today. My eyes are tired. I got all the curtains made and tomorrow I will go in and hem them and I will be done.
I will take pictures and post them tomorrow. The curtains are wild and crazy. They actually turned out really cool, even better than she had hoped.
Tomorrow after I finish hemming the curtains I will go work at the Loaves and Fishes food pantry. The girls will go there in the morning and work while I sew.

Keep praying for Kaci Ronne and now please add Junebug. Baby June is a twin and she is 7 months old. She and her sister were born early and spent about two months in the hospital. Now June seems to be having seizures and other things going on. She is in Dallas in the hospital. When we go visit it is June I usually hold so she is dear to me. Well Harley is dear to me too but it just seems like June is the one I always end up holding. God bless June and make her well. I love them both no matter what, but I pray for their health.

Leaning plant pot tower with bigger pots

I changed the top pot to a smaller pot.
Here is the tower using bigger pots. I bought some strawberry plants to plant in the big pots and am going to plant herbs in the smaller pots.

Leaning plant pot tower

This is the leaning plant pot tower I was telling you about. When I go to town today I am going to pick up bigger pots and make one out of that. I was told that whatever you plant in them needs to be draught resistant because things die in these pots like this.

I was thinking maybe hen and chicks or something like that. I may even try marigolds.

Ok, here are the detailed instructions for making these leaning plant pot towers. Pay attention now.
1. push or pound (depending on how dry your ground is) a 4 foot piece of re bar into the ground where you want your leaning plant pot tower to be. Pound it into the ground approximately 12 inches or else one foot. If you pound it into the ground some other measurement you are on your own because this is my directions and I say one foot.
2. place clay pots onto the re bar, slipping the re bar through the hole that comes with the pot. No need to make your own hole, they come like that.
3.alternate the direction in which your pot leans. Example: 1st pot leans to the left, 2nd pot leans to the right and so forth. If you desire you can do it the opposite way without any ill effects. Example: 1st pot leans to the right, 2nd pot leans to the left and so forth.
4. when you reach the top of the re bar post its time to stop putting pots on the post and BINGO you are done.
5. Fill each pot with potting soil and plant something in it.
If you desire to put these detailed instructions for this complicated project on your blog, web site, face book, twitter or whatever be sure to write to me and get permission first because these are my directions and I made them up all by myself. No one helped me either.
I have no idea what got into me while I was writing this. Maybe it was my alter ego doing it. Yeah, that's it. I didn't even write this. My other self did. If its my other self, is it still me? Oh bother.

Make your own glue?

As you know I am gluing glass pieces together for my garden art. I have been hoping I am using the correct adhesive. I decided to do an Internet search to find out which glue would be the best to glue glass to glass and also be waterproof.
I came across this site that said you could actually make your own waterproof glass glue. What? I have been paying big bucks for glue.
Everyone knows how to make paste, flour and water, but glue, real glue? I am intrigued. The ingredients are simple. Unflavored gelatin (I buy this in bulk) water,(I have that), skim milk, (easy enough) and oil of clove for a preservative. Wow, are they serious?
So right now I am making waterproof glass glue. If this works I am gonna be so happy. If it doesn't, I am not out much.
If you are interested in making your own waterproof glass glue, go to this web site and check it out for your self.

My conviction about the KJV

When I was in grade school I received a King James Bible. I don't remember who gave it to me but I sure remember the Bible itself. I still have it. It was white and had a zipper closure. I read it, memorized scripture, wrote notes, etc. It was the Bible I had when I got saved.
At some point I got an NIV. I liked it. Then I got other versions. Someone wrote the Living Bible for their son and everyone knew it was a paraphrase and not an actual translation. The guy who wrote it even said so. Now days its called a translation.

I remember drifting further and further away from the word. I always loved the Lord but I knew I wasn't living my life for him. I still went to church, tho not every week.

Sometimes I wanted to write down a verse I liked so I would look through all my different translations of the Bible (I had 7 different ones) until I found one that said it the way I wanted it to be worded.

About 3 or 4 years ago I started becoming convicted about the NIV. I began studying about it and found out how much was missing that is in the KJV I grew up with.

My husband also became convicted about which version was correct. As we both began studying and digging we became more and more convinced that we should return to the KJV.
Why was the NIV so hard to memorize? Why are there over 5,000 words missing? Even whole verses?

So we threw away all the other versions we had. Yep, threw them in the trash. It was hard at first because we didn't like throwing away a (BIBLE), but we soon realized they were not correct Bibles and if we gave them away then someone else could be led astray by them, so we threw them away.

We continued to study the issue and were continually convinced the KJV was the correct translation. It has stood the test of time.

Jeff and I feel like the enemy is using the other versions to confuse people. When you are sitting in church or Sunday school and you cant follow along with the scripture being read or your Bible actually says something different, the enemy loves it. A word changed here another word left out there, whole verses missing without a thought. God is not a God of confusion. He is a God of order. Evey thing good and perfect is of God, so it goes without saying that everything bad is of the enemy. Confusion is of the enemy.

We feel that our fellow Christians are being fed tiny bits of poison every time they read one of the other versions. They are just a (little) off or a (little) wrong. After all, its just one word missing or verse. But over time, if we continue to eat the poison, then at some point our bodies become toxic and we are completely poisoned.

We no longer believe the word is true word for word. If it was how come your Bible is different than mine? If its true why don't they say the same thing? Why does the NIV refer to both Jesus and Lucifer as the morning star? Are they the same person? If you do a word study on it with the NIV, there could be no other conclusion.

If Jesus and Lucifer are the same person then the whole thing is a lie.

The King James is clear that this is just not the case. I personally don't want to be poisoned little by little. That is why I am a King James only person.

This post is my conviction and is not open for discussion.

Southwestern Chicken

This sounds like the perfect recipe using my canned chicken.
Chicken
salsa
black beans
corn
Heat and eat on a tortilla.

Garden art so far

After the glue sets I will glue the wine bottles upside down to the bottom. Then I will be able to slip them onto rebar that has been pounded into the ground. I hope I used the right kind of glue. I think these will be cool.

Preparation Time:
20 minutes
Cooking Time:
35-40 minutes
Tammy's Review:
I really enjoyed this easy, healthy casserole! It reminded me of a broccoli-cheese casserole.
I do like spinach, but I don't like meals that are ONLY spinach and no other flavors. While I could definitely taste the spinach in this dish, there was a great balance of cheese and rice.
I'm not sure how necessary the Worcestershire sauce is; it did give a unique flavor, though next time I think I will at least cut the amount of that in half. This recipe is good, but I think it could be even better.

Quality Stone

Linda asked what the stone I talk about is. Its our home business. The girls and I make manufactured stone used for the outside of buildings, homes and for fireplaces. We also make a stepping stone with the left over mix but our main product is the manufactured stone.

We hire a high school boy who helps lift the heavy (94lb.) bags of cement up and into our mortar mixer. He does all the heavy lifting for us. The girls and I can do it by ourselves but the cement is the heaviest thing and about does us in. Plus I don't like the girls lifting things that heavy. Girls are made different than boys ya know?

Anyway I make the mix, and then the girls and Jr. (our hired hand) dump it into a wheel barrow and wheel it over to our pouring table/vibrator table. There they pour the mix into the molds and vibrate it to get the air bubbles out of the mix.

They then lift the tray of molds over to a pallet that is on wheels. They keep doing this, two trays at a time until all the trays are done. Example, the field stone style of stone has about 27-28 trays of molds. I have previously put color into the molds and the kids brush it.

The filed stone takes 5 mortar mixer loads to complete. So that means I make the mix, five times. Sometimes there is extra mix. If there is, I make stepping stones or trim stones or other accessory type stones.

When all mix is used up, we tarp the stacks of molds and clean up. The mixer and wheel barrow and scoops all need washed out. Then the work area needs blown out with the leaf blower.

The next day we un-mold the stone and stack it on pallets. The stone is allowed to air dry for a few days.

The whole process takes about 2 to 2 1/2 hours from un-molding to mixing and cleaning.

Its hard dirty work but the kids get paid good and they like the money.
