Thank you for the ideas of places to go and things to see. We may not get to do everything, it depends on weather and if my girls get their school work done so we can head out. They are mostly done with their work, but still have math and some other subjects to finish up. If anyone thinks of other cheap/free places to go, please leave me a comment.

Ha ha, we *might* go to Galveston/beach this Saturday, too, if husband doesn't have to work.

I'll be the crazy lady in the big hat surrounded by a dozen or more children (friends are going with us).

IMO, the Houston Goodwills are overpriced, but the Ministry thrifts are better and cheaper - CAM (Cypress Assistance Ministry), NAM (North Assistance Ministry) etc. Your pastor probably knows which Ministry store is near you (they usually have food pantries attached.)

(How funny that I've lurked on your blog for months but suddenly have commented so many times in as many days!)

Milehimama,
I am glad you are commenting.
I have had trouble finding thrift stores. They are not lsted as such on the GPS.
The preacher is in Hawaii so I cant ask him about the ministries, he is new here anyway.
There will be 5 grown up ladies, and 2 small girls and a toddler boy.
