Jeff and I just finished watching The last brick maker in America. It is a well made film you can enjoy watching. Excellent story line and my ears were delighted at the non offensive language.
The story is about a 13 year old boy whose parents are separated. He takes his anger out by breaking windows at the school he attends and spray painting on the bricks.
Sydney Poitier plays a recently widowed brick maker who comes upon the boy digging ditches as punishment for his vandalism. He strikes up a conversation with the somewhat snotty boy. He talks about making bricks and the dirt and the boy has a who cares attitude.
The boy ends up going to see Mr. Poitier as he is making bricks. He becomes interested in the process.
Great story line, happy ending. My kind of movie.
